The victim in the incident was world-famous male streamer and YouTuber Darren Watkins Jr. (19 years old, American), also known as IshowSpeed, who owns a YouTube channel with nearly 30 million subscribers.

Ben Nghe Ward People's Committee contacted the male streamer to apologize and refund the 1 million VND that was "ripped off" by 2 men who rented electric balance bikes on Nguyen Hue walking street.

Ben Nghe Ward Police are continuing to clarify, consolidate records, and handle the two men who rented out electric balance bikes.

Earlier that evening, social media circulated a clip recording two men renting electric balance bikes on Nguyen Hue walking street, charging male streamer IshowSpeed 1 million VND for a few minutes of using the bike.

After verification, this clip was taken by the online community from the male streamer's 3-hour live stream during a tour of Nguyen Hue walking street. At the time IshowSpeed live streamed, there were 169,000 viewers.

When the male streamer was visiting Nguyen Hue walking street, he saw a balancing electric bike and went to experience it. At that time, the man quoted the rental price of 100 USD, but when he saw the male streamer stop, the man standing next to him quoted the price of 1 million VND. After that, IshowSpeed had to pay 1 million VND after using the electric bike for only a few minutes. It is known that the rental price of the balancing electric bike mentioned above is only about 50,000 VND/hour. The incident is being further clarified by the authorities of District 1.
