July 8th, 2026 - Minecraft News
- The “Season 2” button in the Menu will now take you to a random coordinate in the world by default, rather than to the “Spawn Area.” Don’t worry, you can still get to the Spawn Area by using the /warp command, but I don’t recommend doing so
- After 5 minutes, you’ll receive a random message from the server. These are just promotional messages for the Discord server or basic tips, don’t mind too much about them
- Price adjustments. I’m still working to adjust item prices to be as balanced and reasonable as possible.
- If you’re banned, warned, or muted, the server will provide you with a BAN ID. You can use this BAN ID to file an appeal if you suspect a mistake.
- The /sethome command has been added per player requests. Players with the Citizen rank can set 2 homes, while Citizen+ and higher can set 3 homes.
Those are all the changes to the server since its launch. I’ll do my best to keep improving the server in the future.

To get started, add mc.fredcentre.site to your server list and click “Play.” If this is your first time logging in, you’ll be asked to enter your account password. This information is extremely important to keep your account secure from unauthorized access.
Once you’re in, you’ll be taken to the lobby, where you’ll find an NPC Menu standing there. Run up to it and click. A selection menu will appear; simply choose Season 2 or Season 1*.
Alternatively, if you want to open the menu without interacting with the NPC, just type /menu.
Or, if you want to warp to the world without interacting with the menu, simply type /warpseason2 (Season 2) or /legacy (Season 1*).
Want to go back to the lobby? Type /lobby**.
I see the server is in maintenance mode? Please wait. You can get up from your seat, have a drink of water, and come back. If the maintenance takes too long? I don’t know… ask FredCentre!

* Season 1 is a separate server, so it operates differently. You’ll need to create an additional account for this Legacy server. Items from Season 2 cannot be transferred to Season 1.
** This command won’t work if you’re on the Season 1 server.

When you connect to the server, you’ll be prompted to register an account (if you’ve already registered, just log in). After logging in or registering, you’ll be taken to the lobby, where you can do various things, such as entering the Season 2 world, entering the Season 1 world, accessing the Shop, and more. You can access the world menu by right-clicking the “Menu” NPC in the lobby or by entering the command /menu. If you want to return to the lobby, simply type the command /lobby (Note: This command will not work if you are currently in the Season 1 world).
The Shop is available, but where is the Auction House “/ah”? Features such as the Auction House and Clans are currently unavailable. We are working hard to add these features in the coming days.

FredCentre Mini SMP will be upgraded to version 26.1.2 (the latest version of Minecraft as of now). And you can definitely use the Voice Chat mod if you want to communicate via voice chat. And if you’re wondering whether the server has microtransactions, the answer is no—but that doesn’t mean the server won’t use this model to generate revenue in the future. When the server launches, everything will be free, and there will be no pay-to-win items or privileges whatsoever.

Here are the notable changes included in this 1.4 Quality of Life update:
- Added a survival time leaderboard. The player list now includes two additional columns: longest survival time and current survival time
- Added a new achievement: King of The Backrooms (Become the player with the longest survival time; not awarded when playing on a private server)
- Redesigned the “portals” for teleporting to the next level
- Player avatars now face the direction the player is looking
- Changed the sound effect for achievement notifications
- Hidden all spawn locations
- Expanded the safe zone in certain levels
- Removed the portal to the 2025 Halloween event
- Added a main menu to the game
+ Click “PLAY GAME” to go to Level 0 (the starting level)
+ Click “CREDITS” to view the closing message from FredCentre Software
- Removed the loading screen in Level 0
- The sound that plays when the player dies now plays immediately (unlike before, when it played about 1 second after death)
- Fixed an issue where certain materials didn’t produce any footstep sounds when standing up
- Fixed a controller malfunction when playing on PC (The bug prevented players from moving using the left stick)
- Disabled auto-jump on the mobile version
- Version and Build numbers will only be displayed in the Menu, not in other Levels
- Fixed an issue where nextbots were missing their images in Level 1 and Level 3
- Removed the Rick Roll poster from the secret room in Level 5
- Completely hide the teleportation portal to the secret level in Level 2
SOME ISSUES
- Ragdoll physics will no longer function due to a conflict with the “Follow Head” feature (Feature #4 mentioned above)
- Nextbots' pathfinding does not work very well (this bug has existed since the game's release)
- The survival time list at Level 0 may not function correctly

Why a Steam Trade Offer link? It’s the only way to send items to other players on Steam. If you don’t send it, or send the wrong one, or win but I can’t send it to you—what then?
